Slow furniture

The negative effects of fast furniture on landfill and the associated waste of resources is a focal point with Doug. Properly made furniture, by lasting longer, can minimise this.

From order to delivery

All pieces are custom designed, in a collaborative process between Doug and the client. The aim is to achieve a piece of fine furniture tailored to the client’s wishes.

Once the design is agreed, manufacture can begin in Doug’s workshop. Making handcrafted furniture is labour intensive. It is not a process to be rushed. Good pieces are made slowly, to last for generations and give continuing joy.
